Hero Kids Foundation is hosting GLOBE Goes to Camp, an initiative of NASA, for the second year in a row! This camp, led by GLOBE Director of Programs, Tina Harte, provides campers of all ages with STEM-based learning adventures from our center in Suffolk, Virginia.
Dates and Themes
June 10-14 | Water Connects Us All Taking a look at water quality, how watersheds connect us all, and macroinvertebrates as indicators of water quality. Join for a week full of water fun!! | Ages 9-12 |
July 8-12 | Tree Habitats Explorations Above and Below: taking a look at tree health, the ecosystem provided by trees, and the organisms that rely on trees. Learn the role that trees play in all of our lives!! | Ages 9-12 |
July 22-26 | GLOBE Takes Flight A look at remote sensing, how NASA explores Earth from above, and how we can be part of NASA by collecting ground-based observations. We will build a kite, fly a drone, and launch a rocket; come join the fun!! | Ages 10-14 |
August 5-9 | Pollinators and Me Exploring the different types of pollinators in our area, the types of plants that provide a food source for our pollinators, and what we can do to protect the habitats of our pollinators. Learn what the buzz is all about!! | Ages 8-12 |
August 12-16 | Nature Explorations Young explorers explore soil, clouds, trees, water, and pollinators through activities igniting curiosity. | Ages 6-8 |

$100 Due on registration, $300 balance due 3 weeks before your chosen camp
