One of my families favorite activities to do during the Summer and Fall months are exploring the local farms. Picking fruits, petting farm animals, and exploring farmer's markets are some of our favorite ways to make family memories. Here are 3 of our favorite farms located right here in Chesapeake!
Mount Pleasant Farms

Mount Pleasant Farms is a great place for a family outing. Their country store offers fresh baked good, fresh eggs and dairy products, homemade lotions, soaps and more! They have seasonal U-pick produce where you and your family can pick fresh fruits depending on the season. The kids will have a blast riding the barrel train, petting the farm animals and playing on the playground. Mount Pleasant Farms also offers birthday parties. Hickory Ridge Farms

Hickory Ridge Farms has some great activities for families especially during the Fall season. They have U-pick strawberry season between April and June and U-pick pumpkin season between September and October. They host Fall festival weekends where families can pick their pumpkins, wander through the corn maze, pet farm animals, ride on a pony and more! Hickory Ridge Farm also offers birthday parties. Greenbrier Farms is one with quite a bit of history. They have been around since 1916. This farm has so much to offer from their garden center to their farm market to the events they host. Their garden center is the perfect place to find fresh flowers, trees or shrubs that will look perfect in front of anyone's home. Their farm market offers things like fresh baked goods, fresh dairy products including ice cream, fresh hand picked vegetables and fruit, homemade jams and jellies and so much more! They have U-pick seasonal produce as well. The kids will have fun petting the farm animals, fishing on the pond, playing on the playground and visiting the horses!
