It's farmer's market and pick-your-own time in Chesapeake!

We love supporting our local farmers and buying locally-grown produce and goods. Plus, it's fun for the whole family to visit a pick-your-own (PYO) farm.

Here are four things to note before heading out:

• Pick-your-own farms can sometimes change hours on short notice dependent on weather, produce availability, and other factors. It's best to call ahead to make sure pick-your-own is available that day. Prices can also change from day to day.
• Bring your own containers or bags to avoid any extra charges! 
• Bring cash as some Chesapeake farmer market stands and pick-your-own farms don't take credit cards or charge a fee for card payments.

Here are the details on Chesapeake farmer's markets and pick-your-own farms:

Farmer's Market at City Park

When: Saturdays and Wednesdays  Dates: June 6 - November 25, 2026   8am - 12pm

What: Locally grown fruit and vegetables, herbs, plants, cut flowers, honey, eggs, grass fed beef and pork, free range chickens, jams, jellies, pickles, baked goods and more

Friday Farmer's Market at Chesapeake Health Department

When: April Through November, Fridays, 10:00am - 2:00pm

What: Fresh tomatoes, corn, squash, beets, berries, melons and seasonal fruits and veggies, plus free Range Eggs, Honey, and a big assortment of Jams, Jellies, Relishes, Pickles, and Salsa

Waterway Market at Great Bridge Village

When: Open Sundays, 11am - 2pm, May through November

Farmers Market in the Historic South Norfolk District

When: Open June 20th 2026 until November 21, Saturdays from 9AM to Noon

What: Produce and products from local farmers and local small businesses

Pick-your-own, also known as u-pick farms in Chesapeake are fun for both kids and adults! PYO is a great family afternoon outing.

Hickory Ridge Farms

What: Strawberries, sunflowers, pumpkins, or Christmas trees, depending on the season. Also has a play area, pony rides, hay rides and a coffee truck.

When: Monday-Sunday, 9am - 6pm

Historic Greenbrier Farm

What: Strawberries, sunflowers, wildflowers, vegetables, pumpkins, or Christmas trees. Also has a play area and bounce houses for a small fee.
